any AWOS provides access to weather than can not be found anywhere else. In particular:

• many AWOS's (ex: F47, 1O2, and more) are not reported to the national network. Weather from these stations is not available on the web, from the National Weather Service, or from Flight Service. any AWOS provides access to these observations.
• most AWOS's report to the network only 3 times an hour; some report once an hour. So weather from the Internet or Flight Service can be 20 minutes to an hour old. any AWOS provides access to the instant, minute by minute observations.
• any AWOS provides access to stations that are not within radio transmission range
• any AWOS provides access to those stations for which you don't know the local phone number

any AWOS also provides Forecasts (TAF and 7 day)
